Flash (1st Practice Session)

While genuine F1 cars were out on track at Sao Paulo, Brazil and practising in real-life , I was sitting in class beginning my Flash training.

Despite the personal "Research" sacrifice (I never miss F1 when it's live on TV) my decision has been well worth it! Today I have broken the typical barrier I experience whenever I try to commence development of an actual project and have produced some actual working code. Hooray!

I'm hoping to embed the actual swf files to show the progress I've made today (I shall attempt uploading them to a shared public folder in my Dropbox later this evening. Fingers crossed.) If successful, I will continue to make all significant builds available in this way. It will not only keep a neat and accessible record of each version created but also allow people viewing my blog a chance to play them and test the game. This will be really advantageous when I start to develop a mixture of prototypes and wish to gather some User feedback quickly and easily.

Just in case this does not go according to plan, I shall confirm here that I managed to work through Chapter 10 of my book Real-World Flash Game Development (See Annotated Bibiliography) and produced a playable, keyboard-controlled car with basic moving and steering (v1), then went on to make the car display more realistic drifting behaviour (v2)

Anna is happy.
